Web Site Launch Event

Late on Friday evening, Jeremy and Sarah set up the marquee. Hill House hasn't seen rain for five weeks, but it poured down that evening, filling the roof with water and soaking us both! However this was great for the ground conditions, hot, bothered riders and organisers. Our new banner, flag and "A" frame looked great - it was nice to see them "in situ" at last.
Saturday 31st July: A bright breezy day and the spectators, riders and their supporters turn out in large numbers. The announcer brings plenty of business to our face painter, Dot, in the marquee and Sarah, Jeremy, Emily and Adam set about distributing "Slow Down for Horses" stickers and signing up people for the prize draw.
Sunday 1st August; A big day for Temples Mr Francis (Frankie) brought up to the event in the trailer at lunchtIme for his dressage just before 2 pm. Sarah remembered where she was going and was pleased with his efforts. Phase 2, the show jumping was a nice little course, but Frankie decided to amuse the crowd by looking at them and not the fences and left the arena safely through to his cross country phase but with an embarrassing number of faults. Luckily he loves Carltons long undulating cross country track and set off full of enthusiasm, finishing our day safely, down the order, but full of smiles.
Meanwhile back at the marquee business was brisk for Dot and the team joined by the rest of my family - 3 generations in all!
The PRIZE DRAW was pulled by Alastair Tusting and I am pleased to say the Amy Dawson won the VIP ticket to Blenheim Horse Trials and Rachael Crouch the Boots vouchers.

Many thanks to the Tusting family for allowing us to take part, Jeremy Emily Adam and Dot on the stand and Bethany and Helen who groomed all day. Frankie for trying and the rest of my family for supporting.
See you at Carlton in 2011!
